The Breast Cancer Research Foundation began in 1993 and I am so proud of what we, together, have accomplished in our 15 years of funding the best, the brightest, the most ambitious, innovative breast cancer researchers and clinicians in the world. Ten years ago we could not have hosted the Symposium we had in October 2008, about the specific differences among cancer cells, because we didn't have the scientific language to talk about these differences. BCRF's Symposium and Luncheon

Cloudy skies did not dampen the enthusiasm of guests attending the October 29th BCRF Annual Symposium and Awards Luncheon at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City. Rachel Roberts, anchor of ABC News Good Morning America, and herself a breast cancer survivor, spoke movingly about her personal experience and heralded Evelyn Lauder for establishing BCRF and the ever-growing "team of champions" it supports. The Foundation currently supports 172 scientists at top universities and academic medical centers worldwide conducting the most advanced and promising breast cancer research that will lead to prevention and a cure in our lifetime.

BCRF is dedicated to the highest level of fiscal efficiency and believes in full transparency about the distribution of its funds. Currently, more than 90 cents of every dollar donated to the Foundation goes directly to breast cancer research and awareness programs.
