2007: Play for P.I.N.K. Reaches New Heights



We are thrilled to announce an unsurpassed number of participants, an expansion of clubs and events to over 140 in 23 states, and an astonishing amount of funds raised.

This phenomenal growth would not be possible without our dedicated board, chairwomen, participants, and, of course, our generous sponsors. Bloomberg, our title sponsor, underwrites all of the expenses of Play for P.I.N.K., enabling 100% of the proceeds to be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Estée Lauder Companies and Wilson Sporting Goods provide support through their contributions of gifts and merchandise.

On November 5th, PFP's board proudly presented a record-breaking $2,750,000 check to Evelyn Lauder and BCRF, bringing its cumulative contributions to $12.75 million! Representatives from Bloomberg and Estée Lauder joined the PFP board for this momentous announcement. Honored guests included Erana Stennett, BCRF Advisory Board member and Bloomberg executive, and several of the PFP-funded researchers: Drs. Robert Benezra, Julie Gralow, Edith Perez and Michael Wigler and Chairman of the BCRF Executive Board of Scientific Advisors, Dr. Larry Norton.

As a result of such significant strides, PFP funds are supporting nine of the nation's leading breast cancer investigators this year:

  • Joyce Slingerland, MD, FRCP, PhD - Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute, University of Miami
  • Michael Wigler, PhD - Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory
