CYNTHIA LUFKIN 1962-2013
On July 3, 2013, The Breast Cancer Research Foundation lost one of our dear supporters and champions, Cynthia Lufkin. Lufkin was Vice Chair of BCRF’s Board of Directors and Co-Chair of BCRF's Advisory Board. Her leadership and dedication to BCRF was unwavering, and her commitment to making a difference in the fight against breast cancer unflappable.
A breast cancer patient herself, Cynthia was an active advocate for empowering other women diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2008, she established a fitness and nutrition center at Memorial Sloan-Kettering as a space for patients to participate in nutrition, wellness and art therapy programs. Her philanthropy and ongoing support for BCRF's mission and work will forever be remembered by our organization and everyone whose lives she touched.
In honor of Cynthia's altruism and passion for our cause, this year's 2013 BCRF Symposium and Awards Luncheon will be dedicated to her memory. In addition, we have created the newly established Cynthia Lufkin Fund to help provide critical resources for leading research projects on the topic of breast cancer and immunotherapy.
Donate to Cynthia’s memory, and enter “Cynthia Lufkin” in the tribute information.
