Hike for Breast Cancer

Alexandra Evans' original plan was to hike the Pacific Crest trail in 2010--2,600 miles to help find a cure for breast cancer. Her hike was to take her from the Mexican to the Canadian border, traveling in the name of all breast cancer patients and their families: "One Act of Random Kindness at a time".
Alexandra has created a BCRF
Time For Research page for those who wish to make an online donation in support of her efforts!

However, as you can read from Alexandra's message below, she had to come up with a change of plan!

"I wanted so desperately to hike the Pacific Crest Trail this season to raise money for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

We all know how bad the economy has been. Maybe I picked the wrong time. On the other hand, I started planning this project before the economy was at its low point. Bottom line, I was unable to get a sponsorship.

The solution I came up with is to do local hikes in the State of Utah. Day hikes or even over night hikes. I'm going to get the word out on Facebook and possibly get some avid hiking volunteers together. Utah is an absolutely gorgeous state. I don't think I'm going to miss out on scenery for pictures!"

Alexandra has already completed several local hikes - you can read all about them and see her beautiful pictures, on Alexandra's blog.
