Bunco for Breast Cancer at
Bartlett Regional Hospital, Juneau, AK
Recently, Tamara Collins, a chemotherapy nurse at Bartlett Hospital, held her second annual Bunco For Breast Cancer party in memory of her former patient, Barbara Greening. When Barbara was in treatment in 2010, she had organized a small fundraiser for all her friends and Bartlett staff members. Everyone loved the idea and the event helped to raise community spirit and morale.
The following year, in memory of Barbara, Tamara organized a Pasta Dinner in Barbara's memory, which raise an amazing total of $13,000, which Tamara donated to BCRF. In 2012, realizing that she could help to keep Barbara's memory alive and at the same time, continue to fund research that may one day achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer, Tamara asked BCRF what other kind of event she could hold on a regular basis. BCRF suggested Bunco For Breast Cancer.
Now, Tamara has recently held her second annual Bunco event at which she raised an amazing total of $10,141!
Congratulations, Tamara - you amaze us with your enthusiasm and support. Thank you for being such a great friend to BCRF!
