Flip For The Fight Invitational Women's Gymnastics Competition, Manassas, VA
On the weekend of March 27 and 28, Gymnastics Motor Sensory (GMS) Institute held a special benefit gymnastics competition at their club in Manassas, VA. The competition was open to gymnasts throughout the state of Virginia, as well as other states. The final result was an amazing $7,000 raised for The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, well exceeding their goal of $5,000! Congratulations GMS!
The meet was in honor of a GMS coach who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. All GMS gymnasts competed in a pink leotard "honoring loved ones who we have lost and survivors who inspire us all."
GMS worked hard raising the funds, along with the Battlefield Gymnastics Booster Club (BGBC) (GMS's parents association.) There were silent auctions of gift baskets that the GMS team kids put together, as well as raffles, baked goods, other foods and miscellaneous items sold at the competitions. Spectators to the events were asked for a donation upon entry to the competitions.
