Cross Country For The Cure Run
The Prairie Central Cross Country team in Fairbury, IL did a "Cross Country for the Cure" run on October 26th, 2010. The team started on Fairbury's main street and ran around town until they felt they had to stop.
Each member of the team ran for at least 80 minutes, and some ran for a full 120 minutes! The team members were responsible for going out on their own, prior to the run, to get pledges or donations from the community. People could either give a flat donation, or pledge a dollar amount per minute for their sponsored runner. Our team set a goal to raise $1,000, and we ended up raising over $2,600. The team was very excited to take part in this fundraiser, and we are already planning to make this a yearly event.
