The Bunco Babes of Ocala, FL, raised $10,000 first time out!
Candy Homan and her team held their first Bunco For Breast Cancer fundraiser on January 17, 2009. The results of their efforts were amazing!
The event was held at the Marion/Ocala Board of Realtors, and 200 participants paid $30 each to join the evening. Pink and white ribbons fluttered everywhere and each table included stackable boxes that looked like the dice used to play Bunco. Hor's d'oeuvres were served and there was a silent auction and raffle.
The group found very little difficulty in attracting sponsors to provide items for the winners of the silent auction, the raffle, and the tournament. The Bunco Babes chose to raise funds for breast cancer research because a close friend was diagnosed. To help raise money to fund their tournament, the Babes held garage sales and even produced a quilt that was raffled for $680!!

Bunco Babes of Ocala are 12 women who get together each month to play Bunco. In early 2007, they won the Prilosec OTC Charity Challenge (which benefited The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.) This inspired them to start their own charity fundraiser and they became a Bunco For Breast Cancer group. We are thrilled at the results of all their hard work.
Take a look at the pictures of the event >>here. The Bunco Babes of Ocala will plan to hold their 2nd Annual BFBC tournament in 2010.
