email privacy policy

We have created this email privacy policy to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy and the protection of your information.

Personally Identifiable Information

Your submission of personally identifiable information to us is entirely your choice. You may visit and browse our website without revealing any personally identifiable information about yourself to us. However, you may also choose to disclose personally identifiable information about yourself by conducting business with us. We may collect personally identifiable information about you if you:
  • communicate such information to us;
  • subscribe to receive our Newsletter or other communications;
  • make an online donation
  • purchase a product from one of our corporate partners and donate a portion of the purchase price to BCRF.
The personally identifiable information we collect may consist of contact information (such as your name, email address, postal address or telephone number), your preferences (such as where you go on our site), financial and transaction-related information (if you make an on-line donation to us), and any other information you communicate to us (for example in an email or phone call).

Emailings

If you received a mailing from us, (a) your email address is either listed with us as someone who has expressly shared this address for the purpose of receiving information in the future ("opt-in"), or (b) you have registered or purchased or otherwise have an existing relationship with us. We respect your time and attention by controlling the frequency of our mailings.

Double Opt-in

"Double opt-in", also known as "confirmed opt-in" or "closed-loop" in some circles, provides an additional layer of security by requiring that email accounts be both subscribed and then verified by a confirmation email before they are added to the list. As a result, only those people with access to the account can respond to the confirmation message, greatly reducing the chance of abuse. For this reason, double opt-in is regarded as the gold standard for secure email marketing. If you receive this confirmation of your submission, please take a moment to respond so that we may comply with your request and add you to our list.

Information Use and Disclosure

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation makes every effort to insure the secure collection and transmission of sensitive user information using industry accepted data collection and encryption methodologies.

The Foundation does not sell or otherwise disclose user information outside the organization. This policy has no exceptions. We do not sell or exchange your information with any other organization, public, private, or non-profit.

Choice/Opt-Out

If you do not wish to receive our newsletter or such other e-communications, please send an email containing your request to bcrf@bcrfcure.org. If you are making an on-line donation, you may also check the box next to the statement indicating that you do not wish to receive such communications from BCRF.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

BCRF reserves the right to modify or supplement this policy at any time. If we make a material change to the terms of this policy, we will post the date of this change at the bottom of this policy.
