The evening's festivities were preceded by an enlightening Symposium entitled "The Marriage of Clinical Medicine and Laboratory Science: Legacy of Judah Folkman" featuring a panel of four of New England’s leading breast cancer experts: William Kaelin, J Dr., MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; Marsha Moses, PhD, Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School; Andrea Richardson, MD, PhD, Brigham & Women's Hospital; Stuart J. Schnitt, Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center, and moderated by Clifford Hudis, MD, BCRF Scientific Advisory Committee Chairman, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

The 2010 Boston Humanitarian Award was presented by Larry Lucchino, President and CEO of The Boston Red Sox to Paul and Phyllis Fireman for their outstanding philanthropy.
