The world's largest annual breast cancer meeting opens with a tribute to Evelyn Lauder's legacy on research and patient care.
The 34th Annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS), held on December 6-10, 2011, honored the legacy of Evelyn H. Lauder. C. Kent Osborne, MD (Baylor College of Medicine), Co-Director of SABCS and BCRF grantee, opened this year's proceedings, attended by nearly 8,000 participants from more than 90 countries, with a tribute to Evelyn Lauder and her impact on breast cancer research and care. BCRF Scientific Director Larry Norton, MD (Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center) reflected on his more than 22 years of collaboration with Evelyn Lauder, which led to the founding and growth of BCRF.
